CGC and JSA Team Up for Autographed Cards Authentication

CGC Cards and JSA have joined forces to provide a seamless experience for collectors and dealers submitting autographed cards for authentication and grading. This collaboration, which covers trading card games, sports cards, and non-sports cards, aims to streamline the process and offer a comprehensive solution for enthusiasts.

The partnership between CGC Cards and JSA was officially launched just in time for the National Sports Card Convention from July 24-28. Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) announced the integration of CGC Cards and JSA services starting on July 15, 2024. Collectors can now submit their autographed cards for JSA authentication and CGC Cards grading in one easy process, making it more convenient than ever to ensure the authenticity and quality of their collectibles.

Building on the success of their previous collaboration for comics, CGC x JSA certification for cards marks a significant step forward for both companies. With CCG’s extensive experience in collectibles grading and JSA’s expertise in autograph authentication, this partnership is set to provide collectors with a top-tier service that meets their needs.

At The National sports card event, collectors and dealers will have the opportunity to access CGC x JSA certification services in person. In addition to traditional submission methods, CGC Cards will offer on-site services for authentication, grading, and encapsulation, allowing attendees to receive immediate feedback on their cards.

CGC’s Signature Series, known for its witnessed signature authentication for comics, will soon extend to cards as well. This expansion will offer autograph collectors a wide range of services through the combined knowledge and resources of CGC and JSA, ensuring a comprehensive and reliable authentication process.

Founded by James Spence, Jr. in 2005, JSA is renowned for its premier autograph authentication services. Leveraging a vast autograph database with nearly 1 million images and state-of-the-art technology, JSA guarantees accurate authentication for collectibles, including cards, ensuring collectors receive verified and authentic items.

Autographed cards certified by CGC and JSA will feature a distinctive CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph label. This label, designed in yellow to denote genuine signatures, includes both brand names and highlights the “Authentic Autograph” designation. For those interested, autograph grading can also be requested and displayed prominently on the label alongside the card’s grade and description.

To cater to top-tier cards, CGC Cards offers the premium gold CGC x JSA Pristine 10 label, reserved for cards that achieve a flawless CGC Pristine 10 grade, showcasing the pinnacle of quality and condition.

Steven R. Eichenbaum, CEO of CCG, and James J. Spence, Jr., JSA President, expressed their excitement about the partnership and the launch of the combined services for cards. They emphasized the commitment to providing collectors with exceptional services that elevate the collecting experience and meet the evolving demands of the industry.

For collectors interested in submitting cards for CGC x JSA certification, detailed information can be found on the CGC Cards website. Submissions can be made through the online submission form, where collectors can choose “JSA Autograph Authentication” after selecting their grading tier. Pricing for JSA autograph authentication is based on the chosen grading tier, with additional CGC Cards grading fees applicable.

As CGC and JSA continue to raise the bar in the collectibles industry, this new offering represents a significant milestone that promises to enhance the collecting experience for enthusiasts worldwide. By combining their expertise and resources, CGC and JSA are set to provide collectors with a trusted and efficient solution for autographed card authentication and grading.
