Topps and NCAA Unveil March Madness Basketball Card Series

Topps has teamed up with the NCAA to introduce an exciting lineup of college basketball trading cards in celebration of March Madness. Priced at $139.99 per pack, the series offers collectors a chance to score an autograph card from top players in the game. The collection showcases a mix of men’s and women’s basketball stars, adding a new dimension to the world of sports trading cards.

Among the featured athletes in the series are Zach Edey from Purdue, the men’s Player of the Year, and Caitlin Clark, the women’s Player of the Year. Each pack includes an autographed card, six base cards, and a parallel card with limited edition numbering. Fans can get their hands on these exclusive packs on Topps’ official website until Thursday, with the added thrill of potentially finding a rare dual autograph card in every tenth pack.

The selection of players for the Bowman U NOW March Madness series is a curated list of 20 standout performers from college basketball. On the men’s side, names like Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham from Kentucky, Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle from UConn, and Kyle Filipowski from Duke stand out. Women’s basketball stars featured include Cameron Brink from Stanford, Paige Bueckers from UConn, and many more.

Dual autograph cards in the series offer unique pairings like Clark/Edey, Clark/Reese, Reese/Van Lith, and Sheppard/Dillingham, providing collectors with rare and coveted combinations within the set.

The timeline for Caitlin Clark’s inclusion in the Topps series is limited, as she is set to sign an exclusive agreement with Panini America on April 1. However, this collaboration allows Topps to infuse the essence of March Madness into their card designs, leveraging the iconic logo and branding associated with the NCAA tournament.

Topps has been actively engaging college basketball fans and collectors by releasing over 120 Bowman U cards this season through their Topps NOW platform. These cards featuring college basketball talent, including Caitlin Clark, have resonated well with enthusiasts. Clark has been prominently featured on 13 different cards this season, showcasing her popularity among collectors.

The integration of college players into the traditional Topps Bowman University line over the past two years has brought a fresh perspective to sports card collecting. By highlighting the vibrancy and skill of these young athletes, Topps has enhanced the overall experience for collectors looking to connect with the excitement of college sports through trading cards.

The partnership between Topps and the NCAA in creating the March Madness basketball card series reflects a commitment to capturing the spirit and energy of collegiate athletics in a unique and collectible format. With plans for future collaborations on the horizon, fans can look forward to more exclusive releases and special editions that celebrate the talent and thrill of college basketball.
