Topps Launches Graphite Tennis Trading Cards

Topps is known for its iconic baseball cards, but the company is venturing into new territory with the launch of Topps Graphite Tennis. Breaking into the world of tennis trading cards, Topps Graphite Tennis is set to make a splash in the hobby community.

Named after the material that serves as the foundation for professional tennis racquets, Topps Graphite Tennis brings a unique twist to the trading card industry. In a nod to the sport’s technological advancements, the set introduces the 1/1 Red Crystalline Refractor, a departure from the traditional Superfractor. This nod to graphite’s crystalline structure adds a touch of innovation to the collection.

Featuring a 200-card base checklist, the set includes promising newcomers like Mirra Andreeva and Ben Shelton. Each hobby box guarantees three hits, with one relic autograph and an additional autograph card included. Notable tennis legends such as Andre Agassi, Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Billie Jean King, and Chris Evert have also lent their signatures to the collection, adding significant value for both collectors and tennis enthusiasts.

Priced at $149.99 per hobby box containing 20 cards, Topps Graphite Tennis offers a range of refractors, with Common Refractors found approximately once every four packs. Exclusive parallels like Aqua, Green, Blue, Gold, Pink, White, and the rarest of them all, the Red Crystalline, are numbered to 200 or fewer. The set’s insert lineup, featuring Active Metal and All Metal cards crafted from actual metal, adds an extra element of intrigue. Collectors will especially covet the Intricate Images insert, known for its portrait-style design and high desirability within the set.

With the launch of Topps Graphite Tennis, Topps is pushing boundaries and extending its reach into the tennis trading card market. By merging science, sports, and sleek design, this innovative set offers collectors a fresh and exciting new avenue to explore. While the ultimate success of Topps Graphite Tennis is yet to be determined, the initial buzz surrounding the release indicates a promising future for this unique addition to the Topps trading card lineup.
