Bobby Witt Jr. Blends Baseball and Wedding with Custom Cards

Kansas City Royals’ standout shortstop and avid collector, Bobby Witt Jr., has brilliantly merged his two passions – baseball and his upcoming wedding – in a creative and personalized manner. Witt surprised his teammates by using custom baseball cards as groomsmen invitations, adding a unique and heartfelt touch to his big day celebrations.

Teammate MJ Melendez had the honor of unveiling the special card in a video shared by card shop Pullwax on October 29. Encased in a PSA 10 slab, the “Topps Bobby Witt Jr. Groomsman Card” displayed a photo of the two players from a joyous moment during a 2022 game. With only two cards in existence, the rarity of this memorabilia piece added to its allure and exclusivity.

The back of the card featured a touching message from Witt himself, expressing his gratitude and excitement for the recipients to stand by his side on his wedding day. The personalized gesture showcased Witt’s thoughtful nature and his innovative take on traditional wedding invitations, perfectly reflecting his deep connection to baseball and collecting.

While Witt’s charming wedding invitations made headlines, his accomplishments on the field have also been noteworthy. Just before his wedding, the 24-year-old phenom clinched his first Silver Slugger Award, marking a significant milestone in his already illustrious career. Witt’s stellar performance both on and off the field has undoubtedly made this year a standout one for the rising star of the Kansas City Royals.

By infusing his wedding preparations with custom baseball cards, Bobby Witt Jr. has demonstrated that his love for the game transcends the boundaries of the field, permeating even the most personal aspects of his life. With a creative and heartfelt approach, Witt continues to showcase his passion for baseball in all facets of his endeavors, leaving a lasting impression on his teammates and fans alike.
