Fanatics Expands U.S. Events, Topps Boosts Collector Promotions

In the bustling hubbub of the sports events landscape, Fanatics is stepping up its game. The sports merchandise company is extending its reach, adding new destinations and varying its offerings throughout the United States. This expansion plan coincides with its approaching fan fest at New York City’s Javits Center. At the same time, Topps, a name synonymous with trading card enthusiasts, revamps its promotional activities, thereby adding a sense of renewed curiosity and fervour among collectors.

During the Topps Industry Conference held in Atlanta, Fanatics outlined their ambitious plans for their flagship event, ‘FanaticsFest.’ This convention, slated for August 16-18 at the Javits Center, aims to curate an amalgamation of fandom, pop-culture and collecting aspects. This is no ordinary spectator event; it is a splendid spectacle in the offing, targeted at ardent sports enthusiasts and lovers of culture.

Playing into the winter spirit, an additional event at Orlando, Florida, is scheduled from November 1-3. This gathering hopes to cater to connoisseurs of collectibles. A cozier and more intimate reception is also planned at PNC Park in Pittsburgh on September 28-29. This event is expected to dazzle local enthusiasts with autograph sessions with athletes.

The events in the pipeline are a significant part of Fanatics’ broad strategy. It aims to host an eclectic mix of massive gatherings, regional exhibits, events specific to stadiums, and engaging collaborations with sports leagues during substantial events like drafts. A more detailed account of these events is keenly awaited in the future.

While Fanatics is setting the stage for the fans, Topps isn’t far behind. A delightful platter of offerings is underway for collectors. Trading Card Day is making its grand comeback on August 3, enticing hobbyists with free exclusive packs at hobby shops. The MVP Buyback program is also set to make a return later this year, giving collectors the thrill of exchanging cards of recent MLB MVPs for store credits.

Topps draws on the success of the Hobby Rip Night from the previous year, attributed to record sales for 18% of the 409 participating stores. On September 14, the company will be heralding the second edition. An entirely fresh initiative, the Hobby Break Night, is pencilled in for December 14. Fans and collectors should prepare themselves for an online event filled with live case, box, and pack openings, coupled with giveaway schemes, sure to keep the excitement pumping high.

Jazzing up their existing portfolio, Fanatics is enriching the U.S. event scene, while Topps is brewing up an engaging and dynamic line-up of activities for collectors. Effortlessly blending fandom and collecting, these advancements will result in a vibrant, immersive, and intensely satisfying experience for sports aficionados and collectors alike.
