Elite Sports Cards Auction Showcases McDavid, Gretzky, Jordan, and More

In the world of sports collecting, few things excite collectors more than elite sports cards. These pieces of memorabilia encapsulate the essence of athleticism and hold immense value among enthusiasts. The ongoing PWCC Marketplace Premier event has put the spotlight on a remarkable selection of sports cards, featuring some of the most iconic names in the history of sports.

One of the standout cards in the auction is Connor McDavid’s 2015-16 Upper Deck The Cup Rookie Patch Autograph. Graded BGS 9.5 and numbered to 99, this card exemplifies the talent and potential of one of hockey’s brightest stars. With bidding already reaching six figures, it is expected to become one of the highlights of the auction.

Another star of the auction is a Wayne Gretzky rookie card. Only 93 of these cards have achieved a PSA 9 grade, making them incredibly rare and highly sought after. With a price anticipated to exceed $100,000, this card is a true gem for any serious collector.

Basketball fans will also find their fair share of treasures in this auction, with a notable entry being one of Michael Jordan’s 1997 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems Red cards. Despite its ‘Authentic/Altered’ designation, this card’s rarity and desirability among fans of Jordan’s collectibles make it a significant addition to any collection.

This auction isn’t limited to just hockey and basketball, however. Baseball and football enthusiasts will find an array of impressive cards as well. Among the vintage baseball cards up for bidding are a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #181 rated PSA 6, a 1948 Leaf Ruth SGC 8, and two 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle cards with SGC 4 and PSA 3 grades respectively. Additionally, a 1952 Berk Ross Mantle at SGC 8 adds to the mix of sought-after baseball collectibles.

For football fans, the auction features prominent cards of Patrick Mahomes. Collectors can bid on a 2017 Panini National Treasures Red NFL Shield 1/1 RPA graded BGS 9, as well as a Panini Prizm Gold rookie auto rated BGS 9.5. These cards showcase the achievements of the three-time Super Bowl champion and are a testament to his impact on the sport.

Not to be overlooked, the auction also boasts a selection of other Jordan memorabilia, including a 1984-85 Star Company XRC (BGS 8.5), a 1986-87 Fleer rookie card (BGS 9.5), a 1997 Finest Embossed Refractor #/74 (PSA 10), and a 2003-04 Topps Chrome Xfractor LeBron James rookie #/220 (BGS 9.5). Not only does this diversity enhance the appeal of the collection, but it also offers collectors the opportunity to own pieces of history from one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

With bidding open until February 22, the current PWCC Marketplace Premier event presents a unique opportunity for collectors to obtain some of the most sought-after sports cards in history. Ranging across various sports and eras, each card holds its own story of athletic excellence and rarity. Whether you are a dedicated fan or an avid collector, this auction is an exciting chance to add remarkable pieces to your collection and become a part of sports card history.
